On 29 September 2025, the Nigeria Immigration Service acknowledged technical difficulties experienced by some diaspora applicants using its contactless biometric system. It said work was underway to resolve the problems and described upgrades to the payment gateway. This was a service notice about the position at that time, not a statement that the same problems persist today.
